Extreme Mini-Split Cleaning does full-teardown mini-split and ductless heat pump cleaning in Pepperell, Massachusetts. $250 for one indoor head and its outdoor unit, $85 for each additional unit, about an hour per head — a four-head house is $505. Every head is stripped: blower wheel, evaporator coil, drain pan, louvers, filters and internal housing, with the parts washed outside rather than wiped in place. You get before-and-after photos of every unit. Call (978) 935-3198 or see full pricing.
What a Deep Clean Reaches
A deep cleaning is designed to get at the parts routine filter maintenance cannot. We access and clean the blower wheel, evaporator coil, drain pan, louvers, filters and internal housing — the hidden components where dust, pollen, pet hair and moisture-related buildup collect while the system runs.
Homes around Pepperell use mini-splits in a lot of different ways. Some systems cool a single bedroom, a finished basement, an addition or a home office. Others are multi-zone heat pumps carrying heating and cooling for the whole house. When a system runs through both the summer and the winter, the internal cleaning matters more, because the hours through that blower wheel roughly quadruple.
If your Pepperell mini-split has reduced airflow, visible black buildup, water dripping where it shouldn't, or a musty smell on start-up, cleaning the filters is not going to address what is deeper inside the unit.
A Recent Pepperell Job
Brookline Street
A whole-house multi-zone Daikin system. Every indoor head came apart — and every blower wheel in the house was black right through. Covers, grilles, filters and wheels went outside to be pressure washed, coils, drain pans and louvers were cleaned in place behind a bib, and each head was rebuilt and tested before we left.
What a Deep Clean Includes
Full teardown of each indoor head — blower wheel, evaporator coil, drain pan, louvers and internal housing cleaned properly, not wiped. Outdoor unit rinsed. Filters inspected and cleaned or replaced. System tested before we leave, and you get photographs of every unit before and after.
The heads stay on the wall. We bib each unit, drop-cloth everything underneath and run the wash water into a bucket — so what comes off your system ends up there and not on your wall or your floor.
Questions We Get in Pepperell
What does a deep cleaning reach that I can't?
Filters are the part you can get to from the front, and keeping up with them is worth doing. But the blower wheel sits behind the coil and has to come out of the unit to be washed — which is why nothing you spray through the vents ever reaches it. Look at the three wheels in the photos above: those came out of one house.
What does a whole multi-zone house cost?
$250 covers the first indoor head and the outdoor unit, and each additional unit is $85. Four heads on one condenser is $505, five is $590. The whole house gets done in one visit. Full pricing is here.
How do I know it's more than the filters?
Reduced airflow, visible black buildup when you shine a light past the vanes, water dripping or spitting out of the unit, or a musty smell on start-up. Any one of those is the wheel, the coil or the pan, not the filters.
Do the parts really go outside?
They do. Covers, grilles, filters and blower wheels come out of the house and get pressure washed in the driveway, then dry before they go back in. You can see a whole house worth of parts laid out in the photos above. What stays on the wall is bibbed, with drop cloths underneath and the wash water running into a bucket.
My system runs for heat too. Does that change anything?
Yes. A system carrying the heat as well as the cooling runs twelve months a year instead of three — roughly four times the hours through the same wheel. Those systems reach the point of needing a cleaning sooner than a cooling-only install.
