What Changes the Price — and What Doesn't
Changes it
- Number of units. This is the only thing that moves the number. Each additional indoor head or outdoor condenser is $85.
- System type. PTAC, HRV, ERV and A/C systems are priced per unit at $200 rather than on the mini-split scale.
Doesn't change it
- How dirty it is. A wheel that's gone solid black costs the same as one that's lightly dusted. It takes longer and we'd rather you call us early than put it off.
- Where you are. No trip charge anywhere in our service area — two hours from Bedford and two hours from Dennis covers nearly all of Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire and northern Rhode Island.
- Brand. Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Daikin, LG, Samsung, MRCOOL, Gree — same price.
- Mounting. Wall units, ceiling cassettes and floor consoles are all the same price.
- Stairs, tight spaces, or a unit over a stairwell. That's our problem, not a line on your invoice.
How That Compares
A full ductless head replacement runs roughly $2,000 to $4,000 installed, and a multi-zone system well beyond that. A cleaning every two years is a small fraction of that, and a fouled blower wheel and coil are among the things that shorten a system's life and drive up what it costs to run.
It's also worth knowing what the alternative quote usually looks like. Most HVAC companies either don't do a true teardown at all, or price it by the hour with materials on top. One of our customers was quoted roughly six times our price by a leading local ductless company for the same four-head job.

Common Questions About Cost
Why is a deep cleaning more than a filter cleaning?
Because it's a different job. A deep cleaning is a full teardown — the blower wheel comes out of the unit and gets washed, along with the coil, drain pan and condensate line. That's about an hour per head. Pulling the filters and rinsing them takes five minutes and never touches the parts that actually hold the mold.
Are there any extra fees?
No. The price covers the visit, the cleaning, all materials and disposal. Nothing gets added once we're in the house.
Do you charge more if it's really bad?
No. Same price. We'd rather you call than wait because you're worried about what we'll find.
